Vilken bokstav är oftast rätt?
Rätt svar är oftast C (27,6 %) och mest sällan A (21,9 %). Strecken under stapeln markerar en helt jämn fördelning, 25 % per bokstav.

Vad är ELF på högskoleprovet?
ELF står för engelsk läsförståelse och är ett av fyra delprov i den verbala delen. Du läser engelska texter och svarar på frågor om innehållet, och i vissa uppgifter fyller du i luckor i en text. Varje ELF-block består av 10 uppgifter med fyra svarsalternativ, och hela den verbala delen innehåller 40 uppgifter som skrivs på 55 minuter.
ELF liknar LÄS men på engelska, och är precis som LÄS tidskrävande — den rekommenderade provtiden är 22 minuter. Texterna är ofta hämtade ur tidningar och facklitteratur, så akademisk engelska och läshastighet spelar stor roll. Du möter ELF i båda de verbala provpassen.

ELF prövar två saker samtidigt:

Förstå engelska texter av olika svårighetsgrad och svara på frågor om innehåll, syfte och slutsatser.
Ordförråd i sammanhang
Vissa uppgifter är lucktexter där du väljer ordet som passar — engelskt ordförråd i praktiken.

"Man måste förstå varje engelskt ord"
Fakta
Nej — du behöver sällan översätta ord för ord. Det viktiga är att fånga textens huvudbudskap och kunna belägga svaret i texten, även om enstaka ord är obekanta.

"Är man bra på engelska klarar man ELF automatiskt"
Fakta
Vardagsengelska räcker inte alltid. ELF använder akademiska texter under tidspress, så det lönar sig att träna på just den typen av läsning inför provet.
Hur pluggar man bäst inför ELF-delen?
Läs engelska texter regelbundet — nyhetsartiklar, populärvetenskap och essäer ligger nära provets stil. Träna på att läsa effektivt och att svara utifrån vad som faktiskt står, inte vad du gissar. Bygg samtidigt upp ditt engelska ordförråd för lucktexterna.
På HP-appen tränar du ELF med texter och frågor från tidigare högskoleprov, med förklaringar som visar var i texten svaret finns. Tillsammans med LÄS-träningen bygger du upp den lässtrategi och det tempo som hela den verbala delen belönar.
Tidslinje för resultat på högskoleprovet
Resultatet finns tillgängligt cirka 5-6 veckor efter provdagen. Om du har ett svenskt personnummer överförs resultatet automatiskt till antagningen. Normeringstabellerna visar hur antalet rätta svar omvandlas till ett resultat på skalan 0,00-2,00.

HP-appen blev min räddning under plugget inför högskoleprovet. Den gjorde det lättare att förstå vad jag behövde träna på, och utan den hade jag aldrig trott att jag skulle nå 2.0 på kvant och 1.3 på verbal. Från 0.9 på första till 1.65 nu!

Hp-appen hjälpte mig då man kan träna på varje del individuellt men även träna på hela prov. Hade skrivit 1,65 innan appen — nu fick jag 1,9.
Jag har skrivit högskoleprovet fem gånger och började på 1,0. Först inför det femte provet pluggade jag strukturerat på riktigt, med HP-appen, och då blev det 1,75. Det som hjälpte mest var ordförrådet. Jag gick från 10–12 rätt av 20 på ORD till 18 av 20.
Jag har skrivit högskoleprovet sju gånger och snittat på 1,1, men bara inför det sista pluggade jag på riktigt. Verbala trodde jag aldrig gick att höja. Med HP-appen nötte jag prov på tid, och gick från 1,1 till 1,6. Nu läser jag till veterinär på SLU.
Jag har skrivit högskoleprovet fem gånger och har använt HP-appen sedan mitt tredje prov. Appens funktioner, med genomgångar och gamla prov, har varit en stor del av min resa, från 1,05 till 1,5 i resultat.
